Computer technicians can be found working in a variety of industries. Possible positions range from a computer technician in a retail electronics store who helps repair hardware and software, to a technician support advisor who helps people over the phone with their computer issues, to a member of an internal IT team within large and medium sized companies.

Prerequisite(s): It is recommended that students take CompTIA Strata if they are new to this field. Students should have basic keyboarding and computer skills, and be comfortable navigating the internet.

What is difference between a certificate and a certification?

If there is a state or national exam that the course is preparing a student for, the proper certifying body will be indicated and that association will proctor and award any type of certification. This is the student’s responsibility, although ECA is here to help guide our students in the right direction.
